Hey, I'm Abdullah Zafar, better known around the internet as raz0229. I'm a full-stack app developer who's spent the last few years bouncing between web dev, app dev, backend work, bots and automation - basically whatever gig needed building. This site is my little dev portfolio, made the old-fashioned way (no frameworks, I promise, scroll down for proof).

- UPDATE UCP Smart Odoo Portal is now used by 400+ students at my university, holding a 4.9/5 rating on the Chrome Web Store. NEW!
- UPDATE Al-Quran API on RapidAPI keeps its 4.9 rating and a growing follower base, happy it's actually useful to people.
- STATUS Currently deep into my BS in Artificial Intelligence at UCP (2023–2027), after starting out in Electrical Engineering at FAST-NUCES.
- ONGOING Slowly cleaning up old repos and pushing out small tools whenever an idea won't leave me alone.
- SITE Rebuilt this homepage from scratch. Yes, on purpose, it's supposed to look like this.
About Me
I got into programming the way a lot of people my age did, messing with a computer I didn't fully understand until things started making sense. Since then I've picked up a bit of everything: building websites, wrapping APIs, writing browser extensions, automating boring stuff with bots, and dabbling in mobile apps. I wouldn't call myself an expert in any one corner of the stack. I just enjoy figuring out how to make something work and then making it work a little better.
Most of what I build starts from a small annoyance or a "wouldn't it be nice if..." moment. A university portal that looked outdated became a Chrome extension used by hundreds of my classmates. Wanting a clean way to search the Quran turned into an API published on RapidAPI. A CraftingInterpreters challenge turned into an actual little programming language with a logo and an AUR package, which is probably more effort than it deserved, but here we are.
Outside of paid gigs, I like tinkering with Linux (Arch, obviously), ricing my desktop far more than necessary, and occasionally going down a rabbit hole of writing something in C just to remember how memory works.

PortuguesePlanet
A language-learning platform for Portuguese and French, built around video courses, a structured pricing/bundle system, a book club, and session booking for one-on-one tutoring.
Al-Quran API
A RESTful API serving the complete Quran, original Arabic text, English translation, transliteration, plus surah, verse-range and keyword/corpus search, all as plain JSON. Built the scraper in Python/Selenium, the API itself in Node.js, deployed on Vercel and listed publicly on RapidAPI.
UCP Smart Odoo Portal
A Chrome extension that redesigns my university's rather ugly Odoo-based student portal into something actually pleasant to use, grade/CGPA calculator, an AI-assisted course enrollment helper, an attendance scheduler, one-click skip for surveys/feedback forms, and a full visual overhaul. Built together with two friends (design & scraping), I handled the code.
TaashOnline
An Android card game app built for the Play Store, "Taash" is just what we call playing cards back home. A fun side project into mobile app development and game logic outside of the usual web/backend work.
Baby Needs Monitor AI
My Final Year Project at UCP, an acoustics-based IoT device paired with a web portal that uses machine learning to listen for a baby's cries and help figure out what they might need, aiming to give parents a smarter, less exhausting way to monitor infants.
🧪 PavaLang
A dynamically-typed, tree-walking interpreter written entirely in Java, variables, user-defined functions with default arguments, closures, control flow, arrays, modules, and a set of built-in functions, all following the classic CraftingInterpreters challenge. A minimal Unix-like shell written in C from scratch: command execution, pipelines,
I/O redirection, background processes, command history and auto-completion, all built on
top of a custom lexer and fork()/execvp() execution engine.

A Chrome extension that turns any text field on the web into a ChatGPT prompt box, complete with speaking and listening abilities so you can talk to it directly. GitHub →
🤖 Python Instagram Command Bot
A Selenium-driven Instagram bot with a dozen chat commands, translation, Wikipedia lookups, quotes, image search and more, plus a separate chat mode for automatic DM replies. An extended fork of an earlier WhatsApp bot I wrote. GitHub →
